Educators

EducatorsEvery year, thousands of Business Horizons applications are mailed to teachers, counselors and administrators of Iowa's public, private, parochial, charter, and home schools. With their dedication in promoting the program, students are given the opportunity of a lifetime - attending Business Horizons. Year after year, the program is a success!

We Need Your Help!

Business Horizons is primarily promoted with the help of loyal teachers, counselors and administrators. The Iowa Association of Business and Industry Foundation needs your help in identifying student who will benefit, distributing applications, following up with students, making school announcements, writing articles for your school newspaper, and supporting other promotional initiatives. There is no limit in the number of students that may attend from your school.

Contact the Iowa Association of Business and Industry Foundation to learn more about how you can help, have your name added to our mailing list, and to request applications or a Business Horizons video.

Prepare Your Students for Higher Education

Hosted on the campus of Simpson College, Business Horizons enables students to prepare for their future after high school and explore higher education opportunities. Students:

  • Experience life on a college campus (e.g. stay in dorms, eat cafeteria food and use recreation facilities)
  • Meet hundreds of new people and make new friends
  • Strengthen college applications
  • Enhance their career passport

Best of all...College credits are available!

Students who successfully complete Business Horizons may earn two transferable credits (cost of credits not included in program fee).

An Experience Not Offered in Schools!

ExperienceStudents work one-on-one with numerous business professionals throughout the program, gaining priceless insight into the world of business and experiencing what it means to be a valuable, productive member of the work force.
While their Industry Advisor guides them throughout the entire week, students also work with financial, marketing and business experts. In addition, they have the opportunity to speak with some of Iowa's most influential business executives during general assemblies and small group meetings.

Most importantly, business professionals provide students with the knowledge, skills and support they need to succeed long after they leave the program. Students are better prepared to successfully transition to higher education, enter the work force, and become successful entrepreneurs and/or business people in a global marketplace.
